Those guys are driving the A10 wrong!

I’d,

put it in Dragstrip at the beginning. And then as I was nearing the U turn I’d click down three modes from Dragstrip mode to my Custom 1 mode. Which is a more track oriented mode with good jaking power. I’d make the turn. Point the car back at the finish and click up three modes back to Dragstrip mode for the finale. And I’d smoke that turkey. Fact

and I’m new to cars. Trucker here

Because sometimes the test is setup to favor one over the other. It was designed to produce a certain conclusion.

I'm not saying that the case here.
It's a good mix

1/4 mile from a dead stop

Braking

One big turn (both cars managed 1.2g on)

1/4 mile from a roll

Both cars beat the Hellcat Black Ghost or whatever it was called.

It's a fact of life. Companies and their marketing departsments do it all the time.
This is not a test they just came up with to beat the Dark Horse.

This is the exact same race they do with ALL the cars they test out.

We really need to accept an L. We're all adults.

How are we measuring performance? The heavy battery completely fell on it’s face during braking and err um turning. Heck even a bike can do better. Is 11 seconds enough or can we run longer?

They measured performance just like how they measured it with other vehicles.

The fact that you said that the electric car fell on it's face when cornering makes it even more fascinating that it won the race.

The Charger did the same Gs in the cornering (lower CoM), it brakes less than 10 feet of the DH from 70-0mph (16" 6-piston fronts compared to the 15.4" on the DH) and out accelerates it.

and it has...

FRATZONIC! LMFAO!

I think this video (and acceleration test if you can call it that) was meant to bolster the ego and appendage sizes of Mopar guys who were dumb enough to buy an EV with sound effects! Yes, there are legitimate places in the market for EVs and hybrids. But as a performance vehicle, not so much.

The real statistics which needs to be answered is simply these; How many trips down the 1/4 can you make on one charge, compared to one 18 gallon tank of gasoline? Who do you think is going to win? The same comparison with respect to distance on a full charge vs. a full tank of gasoline! Duh!

I didn't not accept it, I simply don't care who won. I'm not buying a Dodge Charger, even if it beat a Z06.

I'm merely defending the idea that questioning the test process is valid when marketing companies are involved.
I'm not an electric fan either and will never get one. But people always want to change the rules after a loss is just childish.

Yes, the Dark Horse will win if this was a race around the Nurnburgring.

But this is not the Nurnburgring. This is just a straight track with 1 simple turn. Something people also do on the public roads.

Many people want to know which car would win in a short race that is mostly done on a public road because we are not all professional race drivers who know how to race corners on a racetrack to get everything out of the handling performance.

This is just a simple test to see which car is faster when applying your foot on the gas pedal and a small corner to add more fun to it.

Well in that case, my Volkswagen Polo 1.2 TDI with 75 Horsepower would beat the Charger and the Dark Horse.

It doesn't matter what the other car is: electric, 6 cylinder, 4 cylinder, turbo, AWD, FWD, foreign, domestic, it's all the same when they are waving while walking away from you and all you can do is hold the pedal to the floor.

You run what you brung and hope that you brung enough.

I see defeat among s650 owners. S550s 10 speeds have run 11.9 stock since 2018. Same time as this EV boat. Tune only mustangs with tires are running low 11s.....Nothing the s550 cant handle. Personally I look forward to beating on them this summer in my tuned manual s550 aka Tesla killa!

Every time I’ve been at the track the S650 has been 2/3 tenths and around 2 MPH faster than = S550 N/A

and boost was even worse, closer to 8 tenths, 6/7 mph faster than fully tuned E85 gen 3s.

there is a disconnect between the internet and reality on multiple occasions now.

same day, same track, same air, close to if not same mods.
