H Pipe voids warranty?

If the manufacturer would claim that the H pipe caused the cat to plug up it could deny the warranty claim, but remember that the burden of proof is always on the manufacturer. Also keep in mind that the H pipe is after the o2 sensors and cats so its not technically any thing to do with any emissions Eqt.
I have a Steeda X pipe installed and got a check engine light after. Dealer replaced a bad cat, no questions asked.

Remember what I said... The dealer has to prove that the H pipe caused the failure in the cat to deny the warranty claim. It was only a example I was using... If they could PROVE that the X pipe was defective or that X pipe was plugged up And that was the reason why cat failed then they could deny you clam. I think your missing the point I'm trying to make here.

Does having an H Pipe installed void the warranty? I'm planning of the Ford dealership where I bought it to do the installation.
Yes, no, maybe so, probably not.

yes it voids the replaced part and potentially ‘any’ of it’s connecting parts

no it won’t void the seat and paint and electronics, etc., or otherwise unrelated parts.

it really depends on how much of a butt and how knowledgeable the tech/writer is

basic well known common established ‘exhaust’ modifications normally will only void the ‘emissions’ warranty.

The emissions will change significantly with the H-pipe? To the point that it won't pass a regular test? Isn't the resonator just about the "sound"?

I think your missing the point I'm trying to make here.
The risk really goes away when you use the Ford performance part and have the dealership install it. I am not sure why people make it more complex than it has to be. I was worried about warranty which is why I pay little extra for Ford parts and had the guys with a Ford shirt on doing the work.

The Risk Never really goes away, but knowledge will always mitigate that risk.
You just keep on doing what works for you. Like you said, your only paying just a little more for it all anyway. No worries...

Incorrect but however


a basic x or h (that isn’t leaking) will not ‘change’ the ‘emissions’ in a significant manner so that it will fail emission sniff testing but however it is a ‘modification’ to the as delivered emission equipment, thereby potentially voiding the ‘factory’ emissions’ warranty. There are circumstances that allow you to replace a defective part with either like or better rated but only (or something like 25 years) after failure or (accidental) damage of ‘stock’ part.

yes, resonator is mostly about sound but does play a part in flow

Yeah just wanted to know about the "legal" emissions... as they are very strict here in EU, so I was curious if they changes significantly to the point that will go over the "limits". As for the sound, I'm not much worried about the dB's, they doesn't check that (neither they know about the quiet mode or such). An H-Pipe is the only "mod" I would ever consider, coz I'm missing my former Bullitt (stock) sound so much. :(

No reason for the emissions to change, the resonator is just there to make less noise. Just look inside.
With an H, the noise will be a little louder, nothing more. 👍

I am pretty sure the European cars have a OPF filter. So even if you do a H-pipe it won`t be as loud as USA cars.

Cool cut out, for some reason I thought there was an H- connecting pipe in the stock resonator and not just vents

Sounds much better. The butt dyno is not indicating any HP increase.
