His last participation on this forum was 1 month ago, and guess what topic he was active on.

And after a month, he decided to come back and open a topic about the same subject.

Looks like a troll.

Troll accounts are welcome too but until you own one nobody is going to take you seriously.

But hey, thanks for coming out.

I do not use this often, but when I do.………

Lol, that was gonna be my next step. I had to do that for that guy that was supposedly buying a dark horse for himself and a dark horse for his daughter and he was in law-enforcement and he “needed something that allowed him to do high-speed chases” in a civilian car. The bullshit just got too deep and so rather than getting engaged I just put some Hipwaders on and click that ignore button.

I vacuumed out the driver's foot well in my GT today. While I was outside; I noticed my neighbor
hadn't taken their trash cans in from the curb. There were several insects flying around them; one of them was a wasp. 🤪

The S650 Mustang has faced several challenges that have dampened its appeal among fans:

  1. Locked Aftermarket Tuning: Ford implemented a double-key encryption system, making it difficult for enthusiasts to modify and customize their cars. This decision has alienated a core segment of Mustang buyers who value the car's tunability.
  2. Rising Costs: The new Mustang comes with a higher price tag, and with rising interest rates on car loans, many buyers find it hard to justify the expense. For example, the Dark Horse variant costs around $74,000, pushing potential buyers toward older models that offer better value.
  3. Design Reception: The S650's design update has been described as conservative, lacking the immediate "wow" factor that previous generations like the S550 had. This has contributed to a lukewarm reception.
  4. Market Dynamics: The muscle car market itself has been shrinking, with fewer competitors and changing consumer preferences. This broader trend has also impacted Mustang sales. Millennials and younger seem to love 4 door pocket rockets.
Regarding that “core segment” that you believe are alienated due to a lack of tuning, that segment are mostly younger people that would buy them used rather than new. Most Mustang buyers don’t really care about that. So far that “lack of tuning” hasn’t stopped people from buying it, same with the C8 Corvette when it came on the market for the first couple of years.

The core segment of ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) Mustang buyers typically includes performance enthusiasts, muscle car purists, and automotive hobbyists. These individuals value the Mustang's heritage, raw power, and customizability. Many are drawn to the car's iconic status and its ability to be modified for enhanced performance, making it a favorite among tuners and collectors. These are not the average buyer

I work in tech. All it takes is for one of those keys to leak out of a trusted employee or supplier, and the ECU is cracked. You won't be able to brute force it that easily, granted, but this ECU isn't gonna stay locked forever. Remember when everyone thought hex encryption was unbeatable?

...And so has every other car on the market, and the prices are only going to balloon following certain decisions that were made in recent weeks. Also, for the amount of performance you can get out of it, I think the initial price (when it was released) is justified.
Design Reception: The S650's design update has been described as conservative, lacking the immediate "wow" factor that previous generations like the S550 had. This has contributed to a lukewarm reception.
The car is not photogenic. Everyone on this thread who has driven or owned one talked about how much they hated its looks before they sat in one.

Younger Millenials and Gen Z love 4 door pocket rockets because that's all they can afford right now (Edit: This has led to a general sentiment amongst them of a distaste or hatred towards cars in general. Most don't want to own one but need to since America, the Mustang's primary market, is extremely car-centric. They buy only what they need to get from point A to point B, bar those who want to have some fun with them, which leads back to my original point of lack of funds). Older Millenials have different priorities on top of it being unaffordable for them. The younger generations are not as financially established as their older compatriots due massively in part to the instability of the economy for effectively their entire adult lives and thus cannot justify a $60,000 car. Younger people who own a 'Vette, as a counter-example, are in an entirely different tax bracket and/or leasing.

Not saying this towards you: This stick is so far beyond broken not even King Arthur is interested in trying to pull it out again, and even if he was there are multiple extenuating circumstances that led to this. I'm not sure we need to continue harping on this...

@lcbrownz .....only average components? Maybe if you had a clue what you were talking about. Regardless, so stick with your 2007 and stop whining. Leave the S650s to us.

These components are shared by the S650 and other Ford vehicles and they are not performance components

Chassis and Suspension:

  • Some Suspension Components: While the S650 features updates like monotube dampers and potentially revised geometry, certain fundamental suspension elements like some bushings, bearings, and possibly the design of some control arms might be shared or derived from components used in other rear-wheel-drive Ford vehicles or those utilizing similar independent rear suspension (IRS) setups (though the Mustang's IRS is specifically tuned for performance). The MagneRide damping system, available on certain S650 trims, is also used in other Ford performance models like the Mach-E GT and previous Mustangs.

  • Brake System Components: While the S650 has specific brake calipers and rotor sizes (especially in performance trims), some underlying components of the brake-by-wire system, sensors, or even the master cylinder design might be shared with other modern Ford vehicles. The base model brake components might have more commonality with other Ford sedans or SUVs.
Electronics and Interior:

  • SYNC 4 Infotainment System: The S650 features the SYNC 4 infotainment system, which is used across a wide range of Ford vehicles, including trucks (F-150, Ranger), SUVs (Explorer, Bronco), and electric vehicles (Mach-E). This means the underlying software, some hardware modules, and the general user interface are shared.

  • Electrical Architecture: The S650 utilizes Ford's new Fully-Networked Vehicle (FNV) electrical architecture. While the specific implementation and security features are tailored to the Mustang, the fundamental principles and some modules within this architecture are likely shared with other recently introduced Ford models. This allows for over-the-air updates and enhanced cybersecurity across the Ford lineup.
  • Sensors and Modules: Various sensors (ABS, stability control, airbags), control modules (body control module, gateway module), and wiring harness components might be standardized across different Ford vehicle lines to reduce costs and simplify manufacturing.
  • Interior Switches and Controls: Certain switches (window controls, mirror adjustments), knobs, and steering wheel-mounted controls could be shared with other Ford models.
  • Climate Control System Components: While the design of the HVAC unit is specific to the Mustang's dashboard, some internal components like the blower motor, actuators, and sensors might be common with other Ford vehicles.
  • Lighting Components: Standard lighting elements like interior lights, some indicator lights, and potentially the technology behind the headlights and taillights (though the styling is unique) could be shared or derived from other Ford models.
Other Potential Shared Components:

  • Fasteners and Connectors: Basic hardware like bolts, clips, and electrical connectors are often standardized across a manufacturer's product line.
  • Sealing and Weatherstripping: Some basic sealing and weatherstripping materials and designs might be shared.
