You guys must take me for some type of idiot.

There is no way stripes added horsepower.

Everyone knows its the adhesive:like:
You really think it doesn't add horse power?
You do know some colors absorb more light than others right? The more light it absorbs the less hp you get on your Mustang.

Why do you think all black Mustangs are slower than the white?

I’m going to stripe my RTR’s but going with black reflective. I’ll post when done probably a month out.

Finally bit the bullet, and the weather cooperated. Ran a red vinyl pinstripe down the side skirts. Dyno'd a gain of 1.73hp each side... significantly more than blue or white pin stripes.

Redback,
The pinstripe looks great! You beat me to it! I am planning to do the same on my Shadow Black. What width pinstripe did you use? I see there are stripes on the hood as well. Are they the same width? I am considering doing the door handles as well. How about you? I think they will look good but am hoping I can see some first. Glenn

I guess I am wrong because I thought the absorbed sunlight would add weight, not decrease HP!

Thanks Glenn!

I went with 1/4" Trimbrite. You can buy it on Amazon.

I strongly recommend you apply 94 Primer first; the stippled surface of the side skirts reduces adhesion. I placed a 12" test stripe and left it on for a couple of weeks to test adhesion and the primer works well. The primer is easy to apply, invisible and doesn't change the appearance of the surface, the the tape is still removable without leaving a residue. Also available on Amazon.

The over-the-top stripes are from the factory, and are 3/8", so a little wider. But because they are viewed from an angle, and the side skirt stripes are viewed straight on, visually they look almost identical.

I'm a less-is-more kinda guy, so I won't be adding anything else. I think it breaks up the wall of black nicely, it's subtle, and ties in with the o-t-t stripe.

Redback,
Thanks for the information! That helps a lot. I also am a less-is-more kind of guy and am still up in the air about the door handles. Thanks again! Glenn
