Send me your VIN again. In the message you sent me before, the VIN is wrong. It is not showing as a valid VIN in Ford's system. The VIN of the Ranger you sent me works, but not the one for your car.I had a look at those and set the country code according to the one you posted. What’s next?
Modem still shows as unauthorized. Not totally surprised, as you still need an activation signal sent. I spoke to my contact who cannot help in your case as he can only send the activation signal to vehicles in the US and not abroad. In your case, I would recommend you contact Ford Customer Care and ask them to send an activation signal. This may present a challenge since when they pull your VIN, they will see it as a US based car. If you can convince them to sent the activation signal, it SHOULD make all your connected services work. Again, I am doing my best to help you get this resolved, but this is an experiment and I wish I could guarantee results, but I cannot ensure this will work.Sent you a PM
Thanks

I'm also going to ship my car to Europe and following your process.I sent you a PM. Thanks for your help!
I'm zero technical, so sorry for my stupid question. What is a TCU and is it something physical you had to send him or is it something digital?Yes, I sent my TCU to @A4techpl. Got it back super fast and got all the updates including ford pass working.
It’s the telecommunication module. Basically it connects your car to the mobile network which is required to get the updates. The module itself is located on the left side of the trunk behind the carpet. Easy to remove and you send it to get it reprogrammed.I'm zero technical, so sorry for my stupid question. Okay thanks. I will do so when the car reaches Europe. It’s the telecommunication module. Basically it connects your car to the mobile network which is required to get the updates. I'm no expert and don't want to be a smartass. I'm just a beginner who have read your tutorial about forscan so I can understand a little bit how it works to prepare myself for this scary thing called programming. The country code on that vehicle's TCU is:
![]()
So this is a good start. Order the adapter for FORScan like the one in the link below and the FORScan software can be downloaded from www.forscan.org. Once you have everything set up, let me know and I'll walk you through what you need to do.

If the modem needs to be activated after you change the country code, I do not know how to do that. I have someone that can do it for you, but he would need to remote into your laptop while you are connected to FORScan so he can work his magic. We will cross that bridge if and when we get to it.
Did you lose your remote rev function by changing your TCU to Austria? It’s the telecommunication module. Basically it connects your car to the mobile network which is required to get the updates. The module itself is located on the left side of the trunk behind the carpet. Easy to remove and you send it to get it reprogrammed.
